ASBPM would like to extend special thanks to, Rev. Delavago Scruggs, Senior Project Director of McFarland's Association, Inc.

    Goals Accomplished
    ASBPM WAS ABLE TO:
Educate, train and assist local churches, faith based organizations, chaplains and addiction counselors in developing a greater capacity for addressing the needs of prisoners, ex-prisoners and their families.Bob Teaching Assist local churches and faith based organizations involved in in-prison, aftercare and addiction ministries in becoming highly effective and receptive to addressing the needs of this population by providing specialized holistic training designed to meet their spiritual, mental/emotional, and social needs. Provide local churches and faith based organizations with curriculums designed for both in-prison and re-entry in addiction/relapse prevention and mentoring that will enable them in developing continuity of care in two critical areas that reduce recidivism.

    Objectives Fulfilled
In Phase 1 of the project, ASBPM provided regional train the trainer workshops (12 hours of instruction) and trained instructors to equip faith based volunteers to enter local institutions to prepare offenders for the mentoring process within the faith based community upon their release from prison, and trained instructors to equip faith based volunteers to facilitate Biblical Cognitive relapse prevention groups in local institutions.

In Phase 2 of the project ASBPM provided regional train the trainer workshops (12 hours of instruction) and trained instructors to equip faith based volunteers as mentors to be matched with ex-offenders in faith based communities upon their release from prison and trained instructors to equip faith based volunteers to facilitate Biblical Cognitive relapse prevention groups in the faith based community to provide continuity of care. In Phase 3 of the project ASBPM continued to provide training resources (facilitator/participant guides, and materials) for local churches and faith-based organizations as needs arise.
